What is the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust?
The PCT is a nonprofit arts organization whose sole purpose is to promote the cultural development of Downtown Pittsburgh. Focused on the Cultural District of Downtown, the PCT oversees over 1 million square feet of commercial and residential space that includes public facilities, restaurants and retail, and residential homes. The PCT also offers special programs, events, and classes to all ages.
Where (and What) is the Pittsburgh Cultural District?
Spread across 14 blocks in the heart of Downtown, the Cultural District is a dynamic center for art and entertainment that 
includes music, dance, visual art, theater, events, festivals, and more. There are restaurants, galleries, and public squares.
There are major performance venues like the Benedum Theater & Concert Hall, Byham Theater, Harris Theater, Arcade Comedy Theater, and the August Wilson Center. There’s Theater Square, Katz Plaza, and even the Trust Arts Education Center.
Programs Offered Through Pittsburgh Cultural Trust
The PCT doesn’t just oversee real estate in the area. They also offer a huge variety of programs, workshops, and classes for all ages through their Arts Education Department. Programs are offered for adults, school-aged children, and early childhood ages.
The PCT also promotes public art throughout the cultural district, in places like Allegheny Riverfront Park and the Katz Plaza.

Love festivities and events? The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust oversees numerous events and celebrations throughout the year, from the Gallery Crawl to the Children’s Theater Festival. There’s the Three Rivers Arts Festival, the Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts, India in Focus, and so much more!
